Coach's Tip By Randal Walti Waiting for God's BestBiblical Decision Making - Part 4We
are in the midst of a major life style change. Earlier in
2003, I felt called to start the expansion of the ministry to other
small towns across We held the BBTB seminar;
had 45 in attendance and we felt like we had a good start. However as
the weeks wore on were not able to get fellows involved in small
fellowship groups and the effort waned. I felt at the time if I had a
way to spend more time there (say on a three month basis in an RV)
perhaps the ministry would have caught hold and been multiplying by
now. I talked to Judi about it, and while she felt positive about it
(since we had owned an RV before) there was no way she was going full time in an RV without some type of
nest or home to come home to whenever we wanted. Fast
forward to January of this year. Judi had gotten a special deal on a
one week cruise, but we had to drive down to We
found a very very nice RV resort with golf, shuffle board, swimming,
etc.; we happened to go by the office and the resort host (Bob) showed
us around. and it fit us to the “T”. You could buy a lot; put up an
RV addition to live in when you are not traveling. see http://www.willowlakes.com.
As it turns out
when and if God calls us to sell our home we can become debt free,
using the equity to pay off our debts with no mortgage payments. Judi
and I had talked that whenever she wanted to stop working that we
would take that as a signal to sell the home. So
we exercised God’s decision making principles. I had been in prayer
about it from the very beginning; we had asked God to show us how we
could glorify him in the process. (We agreed that one of our first
steps was to start a prayer breakfast at the club house). We looked at
scripture and were convinced that this was a way that we would no
longer be servant to the lender. In the last three principles of Biblical Decision-Making, we talked about the importance of ‘prayer’ and 'applying the Word', "holding principle.” the fourth step in biblical decision-making is “obtaining counsel”. We
then sought Godly counsel. We talked to couples at church and they all
felt positive about the move and encouraged us while our kids, all three
of them, were very negative about it. One of the thoughts that come to mind, is that until you walk a mile in another persons shoes, you haven't a clue where or what he should be doing. It is between him and God. I just ask for your prayers as Judi and I continue down the road that God has laid out before us.
