AFTER I HAD MADE MYSELF THE FIRST MILLION AND WAS ON THE WAY TO LOSING IT, I TOOK A DEMO RIDE IN A LEAR JET.  I had somehow rationalized myself into thinking I needed it. And after we had come down from the sky, I said to myself “Is this All there is?” Because if the answer was yes then it wasn’t worth it.

7 years later I gave up my will for His and it became patently obvious, that we didn’t need just a little bit more. In fact we didn’t need what we had and we started downsizing.  Judi and I both drive and own free and clear, 7-8 year old cars. When we moved to Georgia almost 4 years ago, I had stock in two .coms, which was worth over 2 million at the time.  No such luck, God wanted me in full time ministry, fully dependent on Him. Both the .coms went belly-up.

 So here is the tip;

 1) You should certainly live no higher lifestyle than the middle of the bottom half. You still need to be in striking distance of your peer group. (So you can have common ground with the lost)

 2) Build your business so that it can run itself with you spending only 25% of your time involved with the business, The rest of your time be involved with the ministry, discipling , etc. start with 10% and set a goal for yourself every year to increase that until you get to 75%.

 3) Focus your efforts on your Life Purpose, and if you haven’t written one, write one with your wife. It will help you say no.

 Let’s see what God’s word  says to us.

 Matt 6:33

33        But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Eccl 1:14

14        I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

 Judi & I will be holding a small group life study on establishing you purpose, if you’d like to learn more just e-mail us.
