Coach's Tip By Randal Walti The pain of finding a new job OR this is the first day of the rest of your life. It's
all a matter of perspective. Who
is master of your fate? There are only two possible answers…it is
either you or God. If it is
you, then you will constantly struggle with the toughest question in
life to answer…that is, “What is my purpose?”
Those who are not trusting in a God who is sovereign will be in a
never-ending struggle with Him. Never-ending
because you’ll expend great amounts of time and energy to understand,
“Why me?” and “Why has this happened?”
and “What is my life really about?” and “Is there really
any hope?” Those
who trust in a sovereign God believe He is in control.
Jerry Bridges, respected author, in his book, Trusting God,
states “God allows or causes all things to happen.
And He will not allow or cause anything to happen that is not for
my good and for His glory.” For
us hardheads who seem to need it pounded in…that means, that everything
that happens is for our good and for His glory. Once you get past this great truth, then it’s not so much an issue of “why?” but “what?” What is God up to? What is He trying to teach me? What new thing is He bringing me into that is even better than what I’ve been doing? If I had a choice and money or resources was not an issue, what would God really want me to do? Well guess what, if you have lost your job that is exactly where you are…and where God wants you…at least for the time being. Back
in June 1990, when I was first diagnosed with Parkinson's, If you would
have told me I would be in Georgia, head of a ministry that sends out
1000 emails a day, with a website seeing an average of 100 people
visiting each day, putting on Mayor’s prayer breakfasts that are
drawing thousands with hundreds receiving Christ, and on the verge of
exploding in the marketplace, I would of said you’re nuts! My
best scenario as far as I could tell is that I would be soon at home
with the Lord. Because the way the disease was progressing, it looked
like I was due to turn into a vegetable about 10 years hence. But God
had a different plan. He helped someone come up with the idea of wiring
a pacemaker into the brain that delivers the stimulus that all but
reduces the shaking and a miracle is happening throughout the world. People who were destined for the trash heap are now able to lead a near normal life. See Brain Surgery for all the details. And the funny thing is they don't know why it works…it just does. So don't talk to me about resources you don't have. God has all the resources he needs. And don’t talk to me about not being able to do God’s will. God’s will is where you’re at…He just needs willing workers for the harvest. Where is your heart at today? Are you trusting God in the midst of your circumstances for great things? WHAT
DOES GODS WORD HAVE TO SAY?
Rom 8:28-30 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30
and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called,
He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
