On Friday, I sent an e-mail to an acquaintance and suggested we might get together for lunch some time in the future and talk about men’s ministry.  He responded   “ Randal, that's just not a ministry that I can work/ participate in at this point of my life. Too many other irons in the fire. Thanks for your thoughts.”

Do you have any in your life. Are you exhibiting the “fruit of the spirit” Love. Joy, peace, patience , kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness. Self control.

What Does Effective Mean

nWhat it doesn’t mean

nWorking in “Crisis” mode all the time.

nPutting in 80-100 hours per week, week in & week out
 

nWhat it does mean

nInvest in the things that will allow you to:

nGlorify God and enjoy Him

nProvide for your family and your employees

nGrow as fast as your market.

nTurn a profit for the owner! “The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’  His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!’”

Getting Out of Crisis

nWe all have the same amount of time.

nWe don’t get out of crisis by not attending to the critical matters. If you have a flat tire, you’ve got to fix it!
nWe must steal time (stop doing) from the unimportant things and invest our time in the future important stuff (getting a tune-up, rotating your tires, checking alignment, etc).
