I'M CONCERNED THAT WE'RE GOING TO GET COMPLACENT.

We are going to forget the basics. We’re going to get sloppy. We’re going to let our guard down. What happens in business when that is the case makes the difference between those who are successful and those who are not.

Let’s say we get sloppy with our employees, our most important asset. We’re late with their annual review. We forget to wish them a Happy Birthday or their wedding anniversary.  From their perspective, we’ve stopped caring. What happens?

Employee morale goes down the drain.  Negativity begins…about the company, about the products, about the leadership…and even about serving the customers!

If we don’t care, then why should they care about our customers?

Of course, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that this has the effect of lowering customer satisfaction. Which affects repeat and referral business.

Guess What? Profitability has dropped.

What about complacency when it has to do with reaching the lost?  I’m involved in a ministry that desires to reach, encourage and equip business leaders toward God’s mission for our lives.  What concerns me right now is making sure that we have 50% of the attendees at our next outreach be non-Christians.  Whatever we are most concerned about is what will be happening.  If we want to just have a “fellowship” meeting, then that’s what we’ll get.  If we desire to reach lost business men and women, then that’s likely where we will produce results.

In some ways, the old saying about computers applies here. Garbage in Garbage out.  What you put in is what you’ll get out.  Decide what’s important and then make your investment there.

If you’re a Christian business leader who wants to make a difference, make a list of five or ten same sex individuals that you want to build relationships with to further the kingdom.  We must start cultivating those relationships that will bare fruit next May.   Find common ground.   Invite them to a ball game or go camping.

 What does the Word say?

 Prov 24:33-34

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest--and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.

 2 Cor 9:6

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
