Transforming Your Business So That It Will Be an
Effective Platform For Ministry |
Who Owns Your Business? |
Ministry is different than your personal
relationship with God. |
Ministry comes Last Not First! |
Ministry naturally flows from a devoted life |
What Does an Effective Platform Mean? |
Everything in the Heavens and earth is yours O
Lord and this is your Kingdom. |
We adore you as being in control of everything. |
Riches and Honor come from you alone and you are
the ruler of all mankind. |
Your hand controls power and might and it is at
your discretion that men are made great and given strength. |
1Chronicles 29 11-12 |
Colossians 3:1 to 4:6 |
GOD FIRST - building a personal relationship
that glorifies and enjoys Him |
FAMILY - spend focused time with your parents,
wife, and kids that shows your love |
BUSINESS - provide for the needs of your family
and your employees |
MINISTRY - always be prepared to give an answer
to everyone who asks you for the reason for the hope you have. |

What Does an Effective Platform Mean? |
What it doesn’t mean |
Working in “Crisis” mode all the time. |
Putting in 80-100 hours per week, week in &
week out |
What it does mean |
Invest in the things that will allow you to: |
Glorify God and enjoy Him |
Provide for your family and your employees |
Grow as fast as your market. |
Turn a profit for the owner! “The man who had
received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you
entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’ His master replied, ‘Well done, good and
faithful servant!’” |
We all have the same amount of time. |
We don’t get out of crisis by not attending to
the critical matters. If you have a flat tire, you’ve got to fix it! |
We must steal time (stop doing) from the
unimportant things and invest our time in the future important stuff
(getting a tune-up, rotating your tires, checking alignment, etc). |

Prov 28:19-20 |
19 He who works his land will have abundant
food, but the one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty. |
20 A faithful man will be richly blessed, but
one eager to get rich will not go unpunished. |
Ps 106:24-27 |
24 Then they despised the pleasant land; they
did not believe his promise. |
25 They grumbled in their tents and did not
obey the LORD. |
26 So he swore to them with uplifted hand
that he would make them fall in the desert, |
27 make their descendants fall among the
nations and scatter them throughout the lands. |

I King 19:3-4 |
3 Elijah was afraid and ran for his life.
When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, |
4 while he himself went a day's journey into
the desert. He came to a broom tree, sat down under it and prayed that he
might die. "I have had enough, LORD," he said. "Take my
life; I am no better than my ancestors." |

Luke 10:30-32 In reply Jesus said: "A
man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands
of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away,
leaving him half dead. |
31 A priest happened to be going down the
same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. |
32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the
place and saw him, passed by on the other side. |

Eccl 1:2-3 |
2 "Meaningless! Meaningless!" says
the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless." |
3 What does man gain from all his labor at
which he toils under the sun? |

Have each Business Life Today Soldier exhibit a
lifestyle which glorifies God and enjoys Him….i.e. |
The Soldier has a DQT which draws Him closer to
God and in turn, nourishes his soul |
The Soldier spends requisite time with his
family |
The Soldier has organized his company so that it
is growing as fast as the market |
The Soldier has as a goal spending 25-50% of his
time in ministry (with an action plan to accomplish it) |
Daily, not mostly or every other day but DAILY! |
This is a Relationship – 2-way communication and
time spent together |
He reveals Himself through Scripture and like a
mirror, shows us ourselves |
You pray / talk to Him |
If you don’t set a time it won’t happen |
All they require is Your Love and Your Time -
Your most precious commodity & legacy |
How much are they worth? |
Invest in: |
Your relationship – “nourish & cherish” wife
(Eph 5) |
Parents – Give them honor and a tribute |
Go for walks together – time to connect |
Orchestrate “Family Nights” and fun events |
Your future legacy - your kids |
“Our children are our ambassadors that we send
to a generation we will not see.” Dennis Rainey |

Teach Your Wife and Children God’s Truth – He
commands it! |
Deut 6:6-8 |
6 These commandments that I give you today
are to be upon your hearts. |
7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them
when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down
and when you get up. |
8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind
them on your foreheads. |
9 Write them on the doorframes of your
houses and on your gates. |
If it Glorifies God, it is an act of worship |
If it consumes you, it becomes an act of
idolatry - Rom 1:25 |
25 They
exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created
things rather than the Creator-- who is forever praised. Amen. |
If you do it right it should not take any more
than 40 hours |
8 for sleep, 1 for God, 1 for get ready,3 for
Family, 8 for work, 2 for ministry, & 1 for yourself . |
If you haven’t talked to God about your
Disciples, How do you dare talk to your Disciples about God? |
Are You Living Proof? |
Prov 27:17 As iron sharpens iron so one man
sharpens another, |
Isa 60:22 The least of you will become a
thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. |
It will only cost you your life! |
Luke 14:28-30, 33 |
28 "Suppose one of you wants to build a
tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has
enough money to complete it? |
29 For if he lays the foundation and is not
able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, |
30 saying, 'This fellow began to build and
was not able to finish.' |
33 In the same way, any of you who does not
give up everything he has cannot be my disciple. |
